3. Lawful basis

  • Enquiry handling: legitimate interests in responding to a business enquiry you initiated, and steps taken at your request before entering a contract.
  • Service delivery: performance of the contract once work is agreed.
  • Server logs: legitimate interests in keeping the site secure and available.

4. How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that do not lead to work: up to 24 months, then deleted.
  • Enquiries that become a client relationship: for the duration of the relationship plus six years, to meet accounting and limitation requirements.
  • Server logs: rolling retention, typically no more than 30 days.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data. Data is shared only with providers necessary to run the service: our hosting provider (which stores the site and its database), our email provider, and our accounting adviser where an invoice exists. Where a provider processes data outside the UK or EEA, transfers rely on an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses.

6. Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you may request access to your data, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. Write to info@progressive-technology.net; we respond within one month. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

7. Remote sessions

During a support session we may see the contents of your screen. We do not copy files off your machine unless you ask us to, and session access ends when the session ends. Notes we keep about the work describe the systems and the fault, not your content.

8. Changes

If this policy changes materially, the updated version appears here with a new date. This version: 25 October 2026.
