Software management

Installation, configuration and version control for the software your business already depends on — set up once, documented, and kept in a state you can explain.

The order of work

Inventory, deploy, then decide how updates land.

Software problems rarely start at the installation. They start with nobody knowing which version is running where, who holds the licence, and whether the machine will survive the next update. So we begin with a short inventory: what is installed, which version, whose name is on the licence, and what it talks to.

From there we deploy or repair what is missing, then agree an update policy — automatic, scheduled, or manual with a test first. The policy is written down, because the next person to touch the machine should not have to guess.

  • Office suites, PDF and productivity tools
  • Bookkeeping and invoicing packages
  • Business applications with a server or cloud component
  • Licence records: what you own, when it renews
  • Update policy: automatic, scheduled or manual

Process

Three stages, each with an end state.

Inventory

A list of software, versions, licence holders and dependencies. You get the list whether or not you continue.

Deploy or repair

Clean installation, migration of settings and data, activation against your own licence.

Set the policy

Update cadence, who approves a version jump, and what happens if an update breaks something.

Boundaries

Where our involvement stops.

We configure and maintain software. We do not sell it, and we do not pretend to be the vendor.

  • Licences are purchased by you, in your name, from the vendor
  • We do not resell, mark up or bundle licences
  • We do not install unlicensed or cracked software, or help to circumvent activation
  • We are not the vendor’s official support and do not claim to be
  • Vendor account ownership and billing stay with you

Sort out what is installed.

An inventory is a good first job: cheap, quick, and it usually explains the next problem before it happens.

Questions

Software management, in practice.

No. You buy them directly from the vendor, in your own name. That keeps the renewal, the billing and the account recovery in your hands — and it keeps our fee free of resale margin.

Yes, provided it is licensed and still supported by its vendor. If a version is out of support, we will say what the risk is before touching it.

That is normal. The inventory stage exists precisely for machines nobody wants to touch. We document the current state first, then propose the smallest set of changes that makes it stable.
